Motivating Tune...

Parris Island, 1986

Hello to all and welcome to my Marine Page!  It is here that I like to reflect on my time in the Corps (thus far), recharge my esprit de corps and renew my motivation, so to speak.  Feel free to poke around, listen to few sound bites, look at some pictures, even email me if you like.

I initially joined the Marine Corps in February of 1986 after I graduated High School (I finished high school mid-term my senior year).  I was trained as an "Aviation Meteorological Equipment Technician" (specialized electronic repair and maintenance) and eventually attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6), which I held for three years.  old recruiting materialThrough the years I attended night school every chance I got and eventually earned an Associates Degree in Computer Studies from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC).  Once I had the degree I became eligible for the Meritorious Commissioning Program (MCP), a program which affords a handful of enlisted Marines each year the opportunity to "go back to bootcamp" (Officer Candidates School) and, if successful, graduate with a regular commission as a Marine Officer.  I was accepted for the program in mid 1998, attended OCS from October to December and graduated as a 2ndLt on my youngest son's birthday, December 11th.  The next six months were spent completing Marine Basic Officer Training (The Basic School/TBS), then three more months of occupational specialty school, after which I was assigned the title of "Aviation Supply and Logistics Officer".  After my first assignment as an officer, I went back to college under a 'Degree Completion Program' and after 18 months attained my Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems from Strayer University.  I have been a Supply Officer for about ten years now and although I find it satisfying work, my passion lies simply in service to my country and my fellow Marines.

Throughout my time in the Corps I have been stationed at Millington TN, Great Lakes IL, Cherry Point NC (twice), Kaneohe Bay HI, Beaufort SC, Iwakuni Japan, Quantico VA (twice), Miramar CA and Okinawa Japan.  I have also spent some time at the former Chanute AFB in IL, Keesler AFB in MS and NSCS in Athens GA.  Additionally, while on deployment I have worked in Roswell NM, Yuma AZ, Fort Stewart GA as well as overseas in South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.
