Welcome to my page.  There really is no telling what you may find here - songs that have caught my interest, lyric snippits, sound bites, quotable quotes, thoughts, pictures, basically just a whole lot of whatever's.  So pull up a seat, grab a drink and burn 'em if you got 'em.  To get things started, what say we put on a tune...

Well the warranty has officially ran out; just had my first surgery.  I broke my ‘lunate’, a bone in the middle of the eight others in the wrist.  The fracture was misdiagnosed as bursitis back in 2001 and consequently went untreated for about 7 years.  Once they discovered the fracture the bone was dead, crumbling, and had begun to damage other bones adjacent to it; arthritis had also set in.  The solution ended up being a “wrist fusion”: removal of the broken bone, shaving down the other damaged areas and insertion of a permanent metal bracket to hold everything in place.  Procedure took about 3 hours and they kept me in the hospital 4 days for IV antibiotics.  Now all that remains is healing and physical therapy to make my fingers work again.  At this point I feel rather indifferent regarding the whole situation, just one of those things we older folks have to endure I suppose (smile).
